Trump-Aligned Super PAC MAGA Inc. Surges in Fundraising for Trump’s 2024 Presidential Campaign
2 min readThe Trump-aligned super PAC, MAGA Inc., has reported a significant surge in fundraising during the second half of 2023, bringing in over $46 million. This is a substantial increase from the $13 million raised during the first half of the year. The super PAC, which supports former President Donald Trump’s third White House run, started the new year with more than $23 million in its coffers.
Trump, who is the commanding frontrunner in the GOP presidential nomination race, crushed his rivals in the Iowa Republican presidential caucuses and later in New Hampshire’s primary. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suspended his campaign, making the race a two-person contest between Trump and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.
MAGA Inc.’s fundraising figures suggest that Trump has been able to maintain connections with top dollar GOP donors. The super PAC, which has spent $38.5 million on ads supporting Trump so far this election cycle, has been urging donors to contribute in advance of expected onslaughts of expenditures from President Biden’s re-election effort and other Democratic groups.
Taylor Budowich, the super PAC’s CEO, stated, “The general election has already started. President Trump has a clear path to win, but Democrats are spending more money and they are doing it earlier than ever before. MAGA Inc. is proud to be the organization entrusted to lead the outside effort to support President Trump and his America First movement into November.”
Budowich, a top Trump adviser before moving over to MAGA Inc. in 2022, is joined by longtime Trump pollster and strategist Tony Fabrizio and fundraiser Meredith O’Rourke. The biggest donation during the second half of 2023 came from Mellon banking fortune heir and transportation executive Timothy Mellon, who contributed $10 million. More than a dozen donors have contributed $1 million or more to MAGA Inc. in the past six months.
The surge in fundraising comes as Trump faces criticism from some in the GOP for his handling of the 2020 election and his continued claims of widespread voter fraud. Despite this, Trump remains a formidable force in the party and maintains a strong base of support.
The fundraising success of MAGA Inc. underscores the continued strength of Trump’s political organization and his ability to mobilize donors and supporters. As the 2024 presidential race heats up, the super PAC is expected to play a significant role in supporting Trump’s campaign and countering Democratic efforts to defeat him.
In conclusion, the Trump-aligned super PAC, MAGA Inc., has reported a significant surge in fundraising during the second half of 2023, bringing in over $46 million. This is a substantial increase from the $13 million raised during the first half of the year and a clear indication of Trump’s continued strength within the GOP. With the general election already underway, MAGA Inc. is poised to play a significant role in supporting Trump’s campaign and countering Democratic efforts to defeat him.
