Williams, who retired from the NFL in 2016, was working as a contractor when he sustained head injuries in a construction accident. He was taken to the hospital and admitted to the ICU, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Mike Williams, a fourth-round draft pick in 2010, played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2010 to 2013. He set a franchise record with 11 touchdowns in his rookie season. Williams was later traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2014 and played for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016.
