Spider-Man Video Game Model Stephanie Tyler Jones Asks Fans for Respect

2 min read

Stephanie Tyler Jones, the actress and model whose likeness was used for the Mary Jane character in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man series, recently took to Instagram to address fans who have been crossing boundaries. In a post, Jones shared that one fan had left multiple voicemails at her workplace, requesting a call back. She described this behavior as “unacceptable” and “considered stalking,” leaving her feeling “unsafe” and “uncomfortable.”

Jones clarified that she is no longer actively acting or modeling and asked fans to respect her privacy. She stated that her skincare page is not for Spider-Man or MJ fans and asked for boundaries not to be crossed. She added that messages would not be answered, and she would block and unfollow anyone who made her feel uncomfortable.

Harassment remains a significant issue in the video game industry. According to the Game Developers Conference’s annual State of the Game Industry survey, 91% of developers believe player harassment is a problem. Women and members of the LGBTQ+ community are more likely to experience abuse from players than men.
