The game took place at Centurion Park in Centurion, with Langton Rusere, Paul Reiffel, Ahsan Raza, Chris Broad, and Stephen Harris officiating the match.
In the first innings, India managed to score 208 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 59 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul were the key players for India. Jaiswal scored 17 runs, Rohit scored 5 runs, Gill scored 2 runs, Kohli scored 38 runs, Shreyas scored 31 runs, and Rahul scored an impressive 70 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Shardul Thakur also contributed with 8 and 24 runs respectively.
South Africa’s bowlers, particularly Kagiso Rabada, Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, and Marco Jansen, put up a strong performance. Rabada took 5 wickets for 44 runs, while Burger and Jansen took 2 wickets each for 50 and 52 runs respectively. Coetzee managed to take 1 wicket for 53 runs.
South Africa’s batting lineup struggled in the first innings, with only a few players managing to score. Dean Elgar, Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram, Tony de Zorzi, Keegan Petersen, David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne, Marco Jansen, Gerald Coetzee, and Kagiso Rabada were the players who took the field for South Africa. However, they were unable to match India’s performance and ended the day with 107 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
