Sand Land, the Video Game Based on Akira Toriyama’s Manga, Has a Release Date

1 min read

The video game adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s Sand Land manga, published by Bandai Namco, is set to launch on April 26, 2024, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. The game follows the story of Beelzebub, the Fiend Prince, and his companions as they embark on an adventure to find the Legendary Spring to end a terrible drought.

Sand Land was first introduced as a comic in 2000 and gained popularity due to Toriyama’s reputation as the creator of Dragon Ball. The comic remained a print-only phenomenon until a feature-length film was released last summer, with the game serving as the next multimedia tie-in.

IGN previously played a Sand Land demo at the Tokyo Game Show and expressed reservations about the driving, combat, and exploration aspects of the game. However, fans are excited about the upcoming release and have expressed their intention to purchase the game on day one.

The official synopsis describes the game as an open-world adventure where players join Beelzebub, Thief, and Sheriff Rao to explore the vast desert and take on the Royal Army in various customizable vehicles. The team’s goal is to find the Legendary Spring and end the drought that has taken over the world.

Fans of Sand Land can add the game to their wishlist in anticipation of its release on April 26, 2024.
