Samsung Unveils New AI-Powered 8K and OLED TVs at CES 2024

2 min read

Samsung has officially unveiled its new lineup of televisions at CES 2024, including several models with advanced AI-powered features. The company’s new 8K TVs, such as the QN900D, come equipped with AI Upscaling Pro technology, which can convert 4K content into 8K or even HD/SD media into 4K. This feature aims to address the scarcity of native 8K content and provide a more immersive viewing experience.

Additionally, Samsung’s new QLED TVs, including the QN90D and QN85D, include AI-powered Real Depth Enhancer Pro, which helps boost contrast between the foreground and background, and Active Voice Amplifier Pro, which enhances dialog and sound effects for a more immersive audio experience.

Samsung’s new OLED models, like the S90D and S95D, also feature AI technology, specifically the “OLED Glare Free” tech, which claims to provide a clear viewing experience in both bright and dark rooms without affecting picture angles or contrast. The S95D also boasts a 4K 144Hz panel and a thickness of just under 11mm.

Samsung’s new offerings include larger screen sizes, such as 98-inch models in its Neo QLED 8K and 4K, QLED 4K, and Crystal UHD lineups. The company’s Supersize Picture Enhancer feature uses AI upscaling to enhance perceived sharpness and reduce visible noise on each pixel to help offset the larger TVs’ larger dots.

Engadget is currently at CES 2024 and will provide further coverage on Samsung’s new televisions and their features. The company’s press conference is scheduled for Monday at 5PM ET.
