NVIDIA Announces Updates to GeForce Now at CES 2024: G-Sync, Day Passes, and New Games
1 min readNVIDIA made several announcements at CES 2024 regarding its GeForce Now cloud gaming service. Among the updates are the addition of G-Sync technology, streaming day passes for paid subscribers, and support for new high-profile games.
GeForce Now’s cloud G-Sync support, which is coming soon, will work on displays with variable refresh rates as well as monitors that are compatible with G-Sync. This feature aims to minimize latency and stutter to deliver smoother gameplay by adjusting the display’s refresh rate to match the streaming rate.
Ultimate subscribers will also have increased NVIDIA Reflex support on certain titles, with a 240fps mode and streams up to 4K resolution at 60fps or 120fps. Additionally, Android users will soon be able to stream GeForce Now at 1440p resolution.
Starting in early February, day passes will be available for both the GeForce Now Ultimate and Priority tiers, providing 24 hours of access to the respective tier with all features enabled. An Ultimate day pass costs $8, while a Priority day pass is $4. The monthly prices for each tier are $20 and $10, respectively.
Several high-profile games are coming to GeForce Now, including Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV from Activision Blizzard, Exoprimal from Capcom, and Honkai: Star Rail from HoYoverse and Mainframe Industries. GeForce Now is also expanding to Japan this spring with the help of Japanese telecom company KDDI.
