Although the incident did not result in any penalties, it gained national attention. The ESPN broadcast mistakenly identified Hunt as a Seahawks staff member instead of a player. This misunderstanding led to some confusion and lighthearted jokes, as Hunt was seen wearing a jersey to practice with “STAFFER” written on his nameplate.

Despite the attention, the NFL fined Hunt $1,610 for unsportsmanlike conduct. The fine is prorated for practice squad players, and Hunt, who makes $289,800 this season, will have to pay the fine.

Joey Hunt, a 29-year-old player, was originally a sixth-round pick by the Seahawks in 2016. He has also played for the Indianapolis Colts.
