Frame AI Glasses: The Future of Wearable Technology
3 min readFrame AI glasses, developed by Brilliant Labs, are revolutionizing the way we interact with the world around us. These smart glasses, which look like regular glasses, are equipped with a powerful neural engine CPU and a color micro OLED display that projects information directly onto the lens. They also have a camera, microphone, and a battery.
Frame glasses are compatible with Brilliant Labs’ app, called Noa, which is an AI assistant that uses OpenAI for visual analysis, Whisper for translation, and Perplexity for web search. Noa learns and adapts to both the user and the tasks it receives.
Frame AI glasses offer a range of features that make everyday life easier and more enjoyable. They can identify any object, person, or place that you see, translate any language that you hear or read, provide nutritional facts about food, and search the web for information. They can even generate images based on your description, request, or imagination.
Frame AI glasses feature a 640×400-pixel color micro OLED display that offers a roughly 20-degree diagonal field of view. They come with a 1280×720 camera, microphone, and a 222mAh battery. They run on a Lua-based custom operating system that is fully open source with very few dependencies and is powered by an nRF52840 Cortex-M4F CPU.
Frame AI glasses are available for preorder for $349 and come in three colors: black, gray, and clear. If you need prescription lenses, Brilliant Labs has partnered with Adoptics to handle that part. They start shipping on April 15.
While Frame AI glasses offer a wealth of features, they do require a subscription to the Noa app to unlock their full potential. Although you can use Noa for free, it is subject to a daily cap. Brilliant Labs is planning to offer a paid tier through Noa, but there is still no information on how much it might cost. However, you won’t have to pay to use the hardware by itself, as Brilliant Labs notes that there is no paywall or subscription and that you can freely use the eyewear with other apps.
Frame AI glasses represent a new way to experience the world with AI technology. They offer a range of features that can help you learn, explore, create, and have fun. Whether you’re looking to identify objects, translate languages, get nutritional facts, or search the web, Frame AI glasses have you covered.
The future of wearable technology is here, and Frame AI glasses are leading the way. They offer a unique and convenient way to access information and interact with the world around you. With their powerful AI capabilities and sleek design, Frame AI glasses are sure to be a game-changer in the world of technology.
