5 min read

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Remake, is set to release on February 29, 2024. In preparation for the game’s launch, Square Enix has made a demo available for download on the PlayStation Store.

The demo allows players to experience a sequence from the early part of the game as both Cloud and Sephiroth. It also provides a sneak peek into the game’s exploration, minigames, and other features.

Square Enix has also announced that an update will be released later this month, which will allow players to explore part of the Junon region before the full game’s release.

The demo’s release comes as a surprise to fans, as it was previously leaked via the PlayStation Store ahead of the official announcement during the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth State of Play.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second of a planned trilogy of games remaking Square Enix’s 1997 JRPG Final Fantasy VII. The first part, Final Fantasy VII Remake, was initially released in 2020 for the PS4 and later ported to PS5 and PC.

Cloud and Sephiroth team up in the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo.

The demo’s release marks an exciting time for fans of the series, who have been eagerly anticipating the next installment in the trilogy. For those who have yet to experience the remake, the demo offers a great opportunity to get a taste of what’s to come.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth promises to deliver an immersive and engaging experience, with improved graphics, enhanced gameplay mechanics, and a captivating storyline. With the demo now available for download, fans can begin their journey into the world of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and prepare themselves for the full game’s release on February 29, 2024.

Square Enix has not yet announced any plans for a demo on other platforms, but fans can expect the game to be released exclusively on PlayStation for a limited time before becoming available on other consoles.

Fanboys are so cringe. The original FF7 was a masterclass in storytelling and arguably the greatest game during the PS1 era. With this new trilogy we have Multiverses, time traveling Sephiroths, and Dementors from Harry Potter. This isn’t FF7, this is Tetsuya Nomura fanfiction. The stans that embra…

I would argue the greatest, most impactful games of the PS1 era came out on the N64, but it is arguably the PS1’s greatest game. 😉

They really put exclusive in giant capital letters at the end, with asterisk on top on that, and then say not available on other consoles. They didn’t have to do Xbox fans dirty like that. It’s been rough couple of days for them already 😭

It did say underneath not available on other platforms until 29/5/24. That’s only a 3 month exclusivity window so it was quite the stretch imho.

I’ll probably just wait for the full game. I haven’t even touched Intergrade yet.

Several Square demos have carry over and I see zero reason to expect this is different.

This is their biggest game release they will spare no expense on that.

How many games is it going to take in total to have the complete game and will there ever be a release of everything in a complete package?

It’s going to be 3 games, a trilogy, and nothing like a bundle has been said as we’re only on game 2. But I’d be surprised if there wasn’t one eventually after they all come out in probably another 4 years.

Its 3 games. I’m sure there will be something that has all 3 at the end.
