Exploring the Impressive Performance of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on PC

4 min read

The release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on PC has generated a significant amount of excitement among gaming enthusiasts, particularly those with high-end systems. In this article, we will delve into the impressive performance of this game on PC, focusing on its optimization, frame rates, and graphical fidelity.

Our testing was conducted on a powerful system, consisting of an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor, 32GB of DDR5 RAM clocked at 6000MHz, and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. We also utilized Windows 10 64-bit and the latest GeForce 551.23 driver for our benchmarks. It is important to note that we disabled the second CCD on our 7950X3D for the sake of consistency.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is developed using the Dragon Engine, and our benchmarks were carried out in the first open-world area of the game’s first chapter. This area provides a reliable indicator of the game’s performance throughout.

The first noteworthy observation is the smoothness of the gameplay experience. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 is capable of delivering over 90 frames per second (fps) at all times while running the game at Native 4K/Max settings. This high frame rate not only ensures a seamless experience but also eliminates any stuttering or shader compilation issues. It is important to mention that the game compiles its shaders the first time it is launched.

Another intriguing aspect of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is its support for advanced upscaling technologies such as AMD FSR 3.0 and NVIDIA DLSS 3. These technologies can enhance the visual experience by improving the game’s resolution and overall image quality. We will be conducting further tests and sharing our opinions on these features in a separate article. Additionally, the game supports Intel XeSS.

The graphical improvements in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth are evident, particularly in the interiors. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has made significant strides in this area, thanks to a more advanced lighting system. The game’s visuals are a noticeable improvement over its predecessor, The Man Who Erased His Name.

However, it is essential to acknowledge that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth cannot compete with the graphical powerhouses that emerged on PC last year. Unfortunately, the game does not support any Ray Tracing effects.

Despite these limitations, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth leaves a solid and pleasant first impression. The game’s performance is impressive, and its visuals are not disappointing. However, it falls short of the graphical prowess demonstrated by games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Alan Wake 2.

We are eager to explore the potential of AMD FSR 3.0 and NVIDIA DLSS 3 in enhancing the visual experience of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Stay tuned for more!
