Taylor Swift Receives Standing Invitation to Attend NWSL San Diego Wave FC Match

Could Taylor Swift be expanding her sports horizons beyond rumored boyfriend Travis Kelce’s NFL games with the Kansas City Chiefs? It seems that way, as the music megastar has received a standing invitation to attend an NWSL San Diego Wave FC match. Wave star and United States women’s national team icon Alex Morgan confirmed this during an interview after the Wave’s regular-season finale on Sunday.

“There’s an open invitation, always,” Morgan chuckled. “American football games are fun, but real football is even more fun.”

Given Swift’s longtime avid support for the USWNT, accepting Morgan’s invitation to attend an NWSL match doesn’t seem far-fetched. Swift has been a dedicated supporter of the USWNT for years, inviting several members on stage during her “1989” album tour following the team’s 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup championship run. She has also publicly voiced her support for the team during their successful title defense in 2019 and their fight for equal pay.

In addition, Swift played a role in the star-studded reveal of the 2023 World Cup roster, alongside A-listers like Lil’ Wayne, Megan Thee Stallion, and U.S. President and First Lady Joe and Jill Biden. It was during this reveal that Swift announced Morgan’s inclusion on the USWNT’s roster. The two have appeared together in the past, notably at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards.

While Swift and Kelce have not publicly confirmed their relationship, they have been seen together in public on multiple occasions. They were recently spotted attending the “Saturday Night Live” season debut and after party. Swift has also been present at three out of the five Chiefs games that Kelce has played in since rumors of their romance began to circulate.

The San Diego Wave is scheduled to begin the 2023 NWSL playoffs on November 5th, with their opponent yet to be determined. If Swift decides to attend a match, it would surely create a buzz and further solidify her support for women’s soccer.
