NYC Mayor Blames Rats for People Leaving the City

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has recently stated that one of the reasons people are leaving the Big Apple in large numbers is due to the ongoing rat infestation. He mentioned that some families decide to move to places with larger green spaces and more opportunities to see animals, rather than just encountering rats in the city.

Adams also highlighted that there has been a “perfect storm” of reasons why people are leaving New York City, including the cost of living, COVID-19, remote job opportunities, and the rat problem. He emphasized that these factors have led to a significant change in the way of life for many residents.

However, Adams also mentioned that the influx of migrants may help alleviate the negative impact of the population decline. He pointed out that there are 152,000 migrants coming into the city, with a majority of them being first-generation immigrants.

According to recent data, New York lost more residents in a year than any other state in the country, with 101,984 people leaving the state. This decline in population has raised concerns about the future of the city and its ability to attract and retain residents.

In response to Adams’ comments, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Rep. Elise Stefanik criticized the Far Left Democrat leadership in New York, stating that their policies have made the state unlivable. She highlighted the record crime rates and the cost of living that are far beyond the national average, which have contributed to the mass exodus from New York.

Mayor Adams’ office has not yet responded to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on the matter.
